Getting ready for Summer

Club members have been busy planting seeds and watching them germinate over the last few weeks. Bean poles, snap peas, spinach, beets, and lettuce seedlings are beginning to sprout in the garden. These plants will be harvested in June and we will be replanting the beds with summer crops.

Preparing for Spring!

What did the big tomato say to the little tomato when he fell behind?
"Catch -Up!"
Here's a little 'catch up' for you on what's been going on....
The Environmental Club is busy preparing for Spring in the garden! Students are learning the various parts of a plant, how they grow, and what they need to survive. Club members have been getting to know new garden terms, vocabulary, and the overall 'farm to table' process. This week we learned how to read seed packets to determine the best conditions and time of year to plant and harvest new vegetables. In another few weeks will plant our first seeds indoors to grow for our annual plant sale during Spotlight Night. Check back for photos.
